HomeMy Public PortalAbout05242 O R D I N A N C E NO. 5242 AN ORDINANCE, amending Ordinance No. 4797, adopted August 11, 1982, by enacting a new Section Two wherein Schedule A has been added to the Compensation Plan for all positions in the classified service. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OP TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. Section Two of Ordinance No. 4797, adopted August 11, 1982, is hereby repealed, Section Two. Section Two of Ordinance No. 4797, adopted August 11, 1982, as amended, shall read as follows: "Section Two. The pay schedules which follow are hereby adopted and prescribed for all positions in the classified service on and after August 1, 1983." 2 Ord. No. 5242 Section Three. An employee who is regularly assigned to work on a shift basis shall be paid as follows: (1) employees on the second shift shall receive premium pay at the rate equivalent to one full step above the normal rate for time worked on the second shift; (2) employees on the third shift shall receive premium pay at the rate equivalent to two full steps above the normal rate for time worked on the third shift. Section Four. An employee regularly assigned to work on a shift basis who is temporarily assigned for one full shift or longer to a vacancy in a higher-rated Schedule "B" classification shall receive, for the duration of such assignment, a higher-skills rate of one increment or the minimum rate of such higher class, whichever is greater. Higher skills rates may, when approved by appointing authorities, be paid to other employees temporarily assigned to higher-rated Schedule "B" classifications in accordance with the applicable Civil Service Rules and Regulations. Section Five. All salary increases for employees assigned to the Administrative and Technical Schedule and to the Management Schedule will be awarded from a compensation pool, the amount of which will be recommended on an annual basis by the Civil Service Commission and approved by the Board of Trustees, considering economic conditions and prevailing 6 rates of the area. 7 Ord. No. 5242 Section Six. Any employee assigned to the "Administrative and Technical Schedule", who will be limited to a wage increase of less than 3% of current annual salary other than performance related, will be eligible for a top of the range payment. The maximum top of the range payment shall amount to the percentage difference of wage increase eligibility and 3% of annual salary. Said payment is to be made on a one-time basis during the month of December, 1983 to facilitate the implementation of the Administrative and Technical Schedule and will be tied to employee performance. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 21, 1983.
