TEMPLE CITY CALIFORNIA
MAY 22, 1967
Mayor Beckley called the adjourned meeting of the City Coun-
cil to order at 7:15 P. M.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: Councilmen - Briggs, Harker, Merritt, Tyrell, Beckley
ABSENT: Councilmen -None
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Koski, City Attorney Martin
ORDINANCE NO. 67 -234: 2nd read.
City Attorney Martin presented Ordinance No. 67 -234 for
second reading AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY RECLASSIFY-
ING CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM R -3 TO C -2 (CASE 67 -219) which covers
property described as 9476 E. Las Tunas Drive (part), 5819 through
5829 Cloverly Avenue, 5818 through 5838 Oak Avenue. Councilman
Tyrell moved to waive further reading and to adopt Ordinance No.
67 -234, Councilman Merritt seconded, and the motion carried unani-
mously.
ORDINANCE NO. 67 -235: Urgency
City Attorney Martin presented Ordinance No. 67 -235 for
urgency adoption to amend Ordinance No. 67 -231, AN ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AMENDING SECTION 4265.3 OF ARTICLE IV OF THE
TEMPLE CITY MUNICIPAL CODE AND PROVIDING FOR IMMEDIATE ENACTMENT.
Councilman Merritt moved to waive further reading and to adopt
Ordinance No. 67 -231 as an urgency ordinance, Councilman Briggs
seconded, and the motion was unanimously carried.
City Manager Koski presented a request to proclaim
Sunday, June 4, as "Hope Sunday ", and requesting support in the
annual City of Hope drive for this pilot medical center. Council-
man Merritt moved that the Mayor so proclaim, Councilman Harker
seconded, and the motion was unanimously carried.
Councilman Tyrell moved to adjourn to June 1, 1967, for
study of the proposed 1967 -68 budget, Councilman Merritt seconded,
and the motion carried unanimously. Council adjourned at 7:20 P.M.
