HomeMy Public PortalAbout05771 O R D I N A N C E NO. 5771 AN ORDINANCE, transferring Two Million Nine Hundred Thirty-four Thousand Dollars ($2,934,000.00) as a loan from the Mississippi River Operating Fund to the Mississippi River Construction Fund, and appropriating Two Million Nine Hundred Thirty-four Thousand Dollars ($2,934,000.00) from the Mississippi River Construction Fund of which Two Hundred Ninety-three Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($293,400.00) is to be used to pay the District's ten percent (10%) share; a grant of Two Million Two Hundred Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,200,500.00) has been received from the Environmental Protection Agency, and Four Hundred Forty Thousand One Hundred Dollars ($440,100.00) has been reserved by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for Contracts E-229, E-231, PA-63, and PA-64 (Completion of secondary treatment facilities at the Lemay Wastewater Treatment Plant), and directing repayment of said loan. WHEREAS, the District has received a seventy-five percent (75%) grant from the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States to pay seventy-five percent (75%) of the cost of said project, and WHEREAS, a fifteen percent (15%) grant has been reserved by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to pay fifteen percent (15%) of the cost of said project, 2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The sum of Two Million Nine Hundred Thirty-four Thousand Dollars ($2,934,000.00) is hereby transferred as a loan from the Mississippi River Operating Fund to the Mississippi River Construction Fund. Section Two. The sum of Two Hundred Ninety-three Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($293,400.00) is hereby appropriated from the Mississippi River Construction Fund to pay ten percent (10%) of the cost for Contracts E-229, E-231, PA-63, and PA-64 (Completion of secondary treatment facilities at the Lemay Wastewater Treatment Plant). Section Three. The grant from the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States amounts to Two Million Two Hundred Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,200,500.00), which will be deposited in the Mississippi River Construction Fund, and is to pay seventy-five percent (75%) of the cost for Contracts E-229, E- 231, PA-63, and PA-64 (Completion of secondary treatment facilities at the Lemay Wastewater Treatment Plant); and said amount is hereby appropriated to be used to make said payments when due and payable under the terms of the contracts for said project. Section Four. The reserved grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources amounts to Four Hundred Forty Thousand One Hundred Dollars ($440,100.00), which will be 3 deposited in the Mississippi River Construction Fund, and is to pay fifteen percent (15%) of the cost for Contracts E-229, E-231, PA-63, and PA-64 (Completion of secondary treatment facilities at the Lemay Wastewater Treatment Plant); and said amount is hereby appropriated to be used to make said payments when due and payable under the terms of the contracts for said project. Section Five. The Director of Finance is hereby directed to repay to the Mississippi River Operating Fund the loan as provided in Section One of this ordinance as funds become available from Federal and State grants. Section Six. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted November 14, 1984.
