In response to the new traffic patterns, VDOT and the Town of Leesburg will monitor traffic
signals on Route 7 (East Market Street) and Battlefield Parkway. If citizens experience unusual
delays related to the timing of these traffic signals, they can notify the Town by completing a
form on the Town website at www.leesburgva.gov/trafficconcern.
Construction of the Sycolin Overpass is expected to be completed in August 2014. During
construction, Sycolin Road will be closed from Gateway Drive to Hope Parkway. Once
completed, the new overpass will restore traffic on Sycolin Road between Gateway Drive and
Hope Parkway. However, there will be no access to Sycolin Road from the Bypass or to the
Bypass from Sycolin Road.
