HomeMy Public PortalAbout06649 O R D I N A N C E NO. 6649 AN ORDINANCE, repealing Ordinance No. 6581, as adopted May 28, 1986, which prescribed a Compensation Plan for all employees of the classified service; Ordinance No. 5208, as adopted August 24, 1983, and Ordinance No. 5878, as adopted February 13, 1985, and amended by Ordinance No. 6003, adopted April 10, 1985, establishing those positions that comprise the Unclassified Service of the District and prescribing the compensation for said positions, and enacting a new ordinance which prescribes a Compensation Plan for all positions of the District except the positions of Executive Director and Secretary- Treasurer, with an emergency clause. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. Ordinance No. 6581, adopted May 28, 1986; Ordinance No. 5208 adopted August 24, 1983, and Ordinance No. 5878, adopted February 13, 1985, and amended by Ordinance No. 6003, adopted April 10, 1985, are hereby repealed and superseded. Section Two. An employee who is regularly assigned to work on a shift basis shall be paid as follows: (1) employees on the second shift shall receive premium pay at the rate equivalent to one full step above the normal rate for time worked on the second shift; (2) employees on the third shift shall receive premium pay at the rate equivalent to two full steps above the normal rate for time worked on the third shift. Section Four. An employee regularly assigned to work on a shift basis who is temporarily assigned for one full shift or longer to a vacancy in a higher-rated Schedule "B" classification shall receive, for the duration of such assignment, a higher skills rate of one increment or the minimum rate of such higher class, whichever is greater. Higher skills rates may, when approved by appointing authorities, be paid to other employees temporarily assigned to higher-rated Schedule "B" classifications in accordance with the applicable Civil Service Rules and Regulations. Section Five. The Compensation Plan as hereby prescribed is essential for the operation of the District, and requires enactment without delay, thus creating an emergency within the meaning of the Plan. Accordingly, this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted July 9, 1986.
