AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Seventy Thousand Dollars
($70,000.00) from the General Fund of the District to pay former
and present District employees a refund for excess social security
payments made during the years 1979, 1980 and 1981.
WHEREAS, the funds herein appropriated represent a sum
equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the employees' share of
money received from the Social Security Administration for the
recovery of social security taxes paid during 1979, 1980 and 1981.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Seventy Thousand Dollars
($70,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the General Fund of the
District to be used to pay former and present District employees a
refund for excess social security payments made during the years
1979, 1980 and 1981.
Section Two. This Ordinance, being an appropriation
Ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted March 11, 1987.
