HomeMy Public PortalAbout2773-1973 - Changing Name from Abington Pike to SW 2nd St - StrickenORDINANCE NO. 2773-1973 AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF THE PRESENTLY EXISTING ABINGTON PIKE IN THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, TO SOUTHWEST SECOND STREET WHEREAS, Southwest Second Street presently commences at the center line of West Main Street and extends southward to the center line of Southwest E Street, and WHEREAS, the presently existing Abington Pike meets Southwest Second Street at the center line of Southwest E Street, and WHEREAS, representatives of the United States Post Office have requested that the name of Abington Pike be changed to Southwest Second Street in the interest of the more efficient delivery of the United States mails, NOW THEREFORE, Be it Ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that: Section 1. Pursuant to Burns Indiana Statute 48-1407, the name of what is presently known as Abington Pike in the City of Richmond, Indiana, be changed to Southwest Second Street. Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, this day of , 1973.
