ORDINANCE NO. 2845-1973
AN ORDINANCE TO ANNEX TO THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, CERTAIN
TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS THERETO, DESCRIBING THE SAME, PROVIDING
FOR THE PUBLICATION THEREOF, AND FIXING THE TIME WHEN THE SAME
SHALL TAKE EFFECT.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana.
SECTION 1. That the following described territory be annexed
to and declared to be a part of said City of Richmond, Indiana.
Being a part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 19,
Township 14 North, Range 1 West in Wayne Township,
Wayne County, Indiana, and being more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at a solid iron rod on the west line of the
Southwest Quarter of said Section 19, said point being
1304.45 feet north 0 degrees and 43 minutes east of an
iron rod at the southwest corner of said Southwest
Quarter, and running thence, from said beginning point,
continuing north 0 degrees and 43 minutes east, along
the west line of said Southwest Quarter, 1071.73 feet
to an iron pipe on the south right-of-way line of In-
terstate Highway Number 70; thence following said
south right-of-way line, the following courses and dis-
tances: south 79 degrees and 52 minutes east 37.05
feet; thence south 81 degrees and 30 minutes east 277.00
feet; thence south 85 degrees and 17 minutes east 197.70
feet to a point of curve; thence following along a
1100.91 feet radius curve to the right in said right-
of-way, the following chord courses and distances:
south 76 degrees and 51 minutes east 48.00 feet; thence
south 74 degrees and 21 minutes east 48.00 feet; thence
south 71 degrees and 51 minutes east 48.00 feet; thence
south 69 degrees and 21 minutes east 48.00 feet; thence
south 66 degrees and 51 minutes east 48.00 feet; thence
south 64 degrees and 21 minutes east 48.00 feet; thence
south 61 degrees and 51 minutes east 48.00 feet; thence
south 59 degrees and 21 minutes east 48.00 feet; thence
south 56 degrees and 51 minutes east 48.00 feet; thence
south 54 degrees and 21 minutes east 48.00 feet; thence
south 51 degrees and 06 minutes east 76.90 feet; thence
leaving said right-of-way line, south 0 degrees and 33
minutes west 773.33 feet to an iron pipe; thence north
89 degrees and 23 minutes west, 1006.78 feet to the
place of beginning, containing an area of 22.036 acres.
SUBJECT TO: The right-of-way of the Flatley Road, and
any easements of record.
AND ALSO being a part of the South west Quarter of Sec-
tion 19, Township 14 North, Range 1 West in Wayne Town-
ship, Wayne County, Indiana, and being more particu-
larly described as follows:
Beginning at an iron pipe, said point being more par-
ticularly described as follows: Commencing at a solid
iron rod at the southwest corner of the Southwest Quarter
of said Section 19, and running thence north 0 degrees
and 43 minutes east, along the west line of said South-
west Quarter 1304.45 feet to an iron pipe, thence south
89 degrees and 23 minutes east 1006.78 feet to an iron
pipe, thence north 0 degrees and 33 minutes east 121.43
feet to the beginning point of this description, and
running thence, from said beginning point, continuing
north 0 degrees and 33 minutes east 651.90 feet to a
point on the south right-of-way line of Interstate
Highway Number 70; thence south 46 degrees and 50
minutes east, along said right-of-way line, 55.93
feet to a point of tangency in said right-of-way;
thence south 46 degrees and 48 minutes east,along
said right-of-way line, 445.63 feet; thence south
48 degrees and 29 minutes east, along said right-
of-way line, 362.84 feet to an iron pipe at the
end of the right-of-way line of said Interstate
Highway Number 70; thence south 6 degrees and 53
minutes west 60.50 feet to a concrete right-of-way
monument; thence south 0 degrees and 45 minutes west
16.32 feet to a solid iron rod on the center line of
a 30 foot wide roadway; thence north 89 degrees and
15 minutes west, along said center line, 636.26 feet
to the place of beginning, containing an area of
5.308 acres.
AND ALSO: An easement of 15 feet in equal width im-
mediately south of and adjacent to the south line of
the above described tract for use as a roadway.
SUBJECT TO: An easement of 15 feet in equal width
oft e entire south side of the above described
tract for use as a roadway, and subject to any ease-
ments of record.
SECTION 2. The terms and conditions applicable to the annexa-
tion of the aforedescribed real estate in Section 1, are as
follows: That all of the said above described real estate be
annexed into the City of Richmond as M-2 General Industrial
District, as defined and described in Article 35 of the City
of Richmond, Indiana Zoning Ordinance.
SECTION 3. The terms and conditions applicable to this annexa-
tion, as set forth in Section 2, above, are deemed just and
reasonable.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and pub-
lication as by law required.
PASSED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
this day of 1973.
