A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT THROUGH
THE INFORMAL BID PROCESS FOR LOS AMIGOS PARK WEST AND
AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A PURCHASE ORDER TO GREAT
WESTERN PARK ~ PLAYGROUND IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$90,000.
WHEREAS, Los Amigos Park is the largest park resource available west
of Long Beach Boulevard in the community; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to provide a fun, safe and healthy park to all
families residing in the Los Amigos Park community; and
WHEREAS, a recent audit has found the current playground structure is
outdated and no longer provides a safe play area for local youth; and
WHEREAS, Section 6 -3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal Code allows for
informal bids with a 4/5 vote of the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1: That the City Manager is authorized to issue a purchase order
in an amount not to exceed $90,000 for the purchase of playground equipment.
Section 2: Due to safety concerns, the project may be more economically
and efficiently obtained through the informal bid process.
Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 20th day of May, 2008.
