A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PROPOSED FEES AND PROCESS FOR PERMITTING SANITARY
SEWER CONSTRUCTION AND REHABILITATION IN THE CITY OF RIVERDALE
WHEREAS, The City of Riverdale, Iowa ("City") is a Municipal Corporation, organized and
operating under the laws of the State of Iowa, and;
WHEREAS, City Staff has reviewed the City's building permit and application process for
the construction of sanitary sewer connection; found the current processes in need of
updating and modifications in order to provide the best information to maintain
Riverdale's essential services and will standardize the permitting process, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council of Riverdale has the authority to revise, amend, create and
remove building and occupancy rules and standards for both commercial and
residential construction within the City limits of Riverdale (ref. Code of Riverdale,
Chapter 1.03), and;
WHEREAS, Staff has developed a process by which a licensed plumber is required to
request a permit to connect to the Municipal Sanitary Sewer System for the City of
Riverdale, for review and approval by the City, allow for inspection of the completed
construction by an authorized member of the City's staff and make any modifications
to plans or final construction as instructed (attached as Exhibit "A"), and;
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the plumber who completes sanitary sewer
connection shall complete a site layout in order to provide the best information
regarding the location and product as instructed in the City Builder's Packet (see
attached Exhibit "B").
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, IOWA,
Section 1. That the City Council for the City of Riverdale, Iowa pursuant to Chapter
1.03 of the City Code, hereby approves the updated procedures and guidelines for
permitting, inspecting and approving Sanitary Sewer Connections within the city limits
of Riverdale, and;

Section 2. That the City Council for the City of Riverdale, Iowa, hereby adopts the
proposed permit.
