O R D I N A N C E NO. 8119
AN ORDINANCE, repealing Ordinance No. 7487 adopted June
22, 1988, as amended by Ordinance No. 7851, adopted July 12, 1989,
and enacting a new Ordinance in lieu thereof, which prescribes a
Compensation Plan for all Classified and Unclassified positions of
The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, except the positions of
Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. Ordinance No. 7487, adopted June 22, 1988,
as amended by Ordinance No. 7851, adopted July 12, 1989, is hereby
repealed and superseded.
Section Two. The pay schedules which follow are hereby
adopted and prescribed for all positions in the Classified and
Unclassified service of the District, except the positions of
Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer, on and after July 2,
1990.

Section Three. An employee who is regularly assigned
to work on a shift basis shall be paid as follows: (1) employees
on the second shift shall receive premium pay at the rate
equivalent to one full step above the normal rate for time worked
on the second shift; (2) employees on the third shift shall
receive premium pay at the rate equivalent to two full steps above
the normal rate for time worked on the third shift.
Section Four. An employee who is assisted to work a
regular shift on Easter Sunday shall be paid at the rate of one
and one-half (1-1/2) times the hourly rate for actual hours worked
and at the appropriate shift rate.
Section Five. An employee regularly assigned to work on a
shift basis who is temporarily assigned for one full shift or
longer to a vacancy in a higher-rated Schedule "B" classification
shall receive, for the duration of such assignment, a
higher-skills rate of one increment or the minimum rate of such
higher class, whichever is greater. Higher skills rates may, when
approved by appointing authorities, be paid to other employees
temporarily assigned to higher-rated Schedule "B" classifications
in accordance with the applicable Civil Service Rules and
Regulations.
Section Six. An employee leaving District service because
of Early or Normal Retirement, who has unused accrued sick leave
remaining, will be compensated for that portion of such accrued
sick leave which is equal to 1% for each year of District service
from the employee's most recent original appointment date.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 15, 1990.
