AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Three Hundred Forty-six
Thousand Dollars ($346,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of Sugar Creek to be used for
project costs for the construction of sanitary sewers in Upper
Sugar Creek Sanitary Relief Section A (87152), in the Cities of
Kirkwood and Des Peres, Missouri; and confirming a contract with
Karsten Equipment Company for the construction of the aforesaid
sanitary sewers, in compliance with Section 9.040 of the Plan of
the District.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said sanitary
sewers is Two Hundred Eighty-five Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-
seven and 25/100 Dollars ($285,977.25), and the cost of
engineering, inspection, construction staking, advertisement costs
and allowance for construction change orders is Sixty Thousand
Twenty-two and 75/100 Dollars ($60,022.75), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that
there is an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund
sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Three Hundred Forty-six
Thousand Dollars ($346,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the
Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of Sugar
Creek to be used for project costs for the construction of
sanitary sewers in Upper Sugar Creek Sanitary Relief Section A
(87152), in the Cities of Kirkwood and Des Peres, Missouri.
Section Two. The contract heretofore let by the
Executive Director to Karsten Equipment Company as the lowest
responsible bidder for the construction of sanitary sewers in
Upper Sugar Creek Sanitary Relief Section A (87152), in the Cities
of Kirkwood and Des Peres, Missouri, with The Metropolitan St.
Louis Sewer District, pursuant to bids received and opened on the
5th day of September, 1991 and formally executed on the 17th day
of September, 1991 by said contractor and by the Executive
Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of the District is
hereby confirmed, in compliance with Section 9.040 of the Plan of
the District.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 18, 1991.
