HomeMy Public PortalAbout08515 O R D I N A N C E NO. 8515 AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Two Hundred Thirty-six Thousand Dollars ($236,000.00) from the Improvement Fund to be used for the project costs for the construction of sanitary sewers in Subdistrict No. 89001 (Cleves No. 3700-3717) in St. Louis County, Missouri; and confirming a contract with Karsten Equipment Company for the construction of the aforesaid sanitary sewers in compliance with Section 9.040 of the Plan of the District. WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said sanitary sewers is Two Hundred Four Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-one Dollars ($204,691.00), and the costs of engineering, survey, inspection, construction staking, advertisement costs, easement charges, connection fees and allowance for construction change orders, is Thirty-one Thousand Three Hundred Nine Dollars ($31,309.00), and WHEREAS, St. Louis County, Missouri, pursuant to the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, has agreed to contribute Two Hundred Thirty-six Thousand Dollars ($236,000.00) toward the total costs of said project; upon the receipt of such funds from said source, said money will be returned to the Improvement Fund, and WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The sum of Two Hundred Thirty-six Thousand Dollars ($236,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Improvement Fund to be used for project costs for the construction of sanitary sewers in Subdistrict No. 89001 (Cleves No. 3700- 3717), in St. Louis County, Missouri. Section Two. The contract heretofore let by the Executive Director to Karsten Equipment Company as the lowest responsible bidder for the construction of sanitary sewers in Subdistrict No. 89001 (Cleves No. 3700-3717), in St. Louis County, Missouri, with The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, pursuant to bids received and opened on the 19th day of September, 1991 and formally executed on the 1st day of October, 1991 by said contractor and by the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of the District is hereby confirmed, in compliance with Section 9.040 of the Plan of the District. Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted October 2, 1991.
