AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Three Hundred Seventy-nine
Thousand Dollars ($379,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of Mississippi River to be used for
project costs for the construction of storm sewers in Alabama
Bridge - Kayser Creek Phase II (90137), in the City of St. Louis
and St. Louis County, Missouri; and confirming a contract with
Karsten Equipment Company for the construction of the aforesaid
storm sewers, in compliance with Section 9.040 of the Plan of the
District.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said storm
sewers is Three Hundred Twelve Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety-nine
Dollars ($312,899.00), and the cost of engineering, inspection,
construction staking, advertisement costs, easement charges, and
allowance for construction change orders is Sixty-six Thousand One
Hundred One Dollars ($66,101.00), and
WHEREAS, the State of Missouri has agreed to contribute
One Hundred Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-one Dollars ($100,981.00)
toward the total costs of said project; upon the receipt of such
funds from said source, said money will be returned to the
Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of
Mississippi River, and
WHEREAS, St. Louis County, Missouri, pursuant to the
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, has agreed to
contribute Two Hundred Sixteen Thousand Dollars ($216,000.00)
toward the total costs of said project; upon the receipt of such
funds from said source, said money will be returned to the
Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of
Mississippi River, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that
there is an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund
sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Three Hundred Seventy-nine
Thousand Dollars ($379,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the
Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of
Mississippi River to be used for project costs for the
construction of storm sewers in Alabama Bridge - Kayser Creek
Phase II (90137), in the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County,
Missouri.
Section Two. The contract heretofore let by the
Executive Director to Karsten Equipment Company as the lowest
responsible bidder for the construction of storm sewers in Alabama
Bridge - Kayser Creek Phase II (90137), in the City of St. Louis
and St. Louis County, Missouri, with the Metropolitan St. Louis
Sewer District, pursuant to bids received and opened on the 25th
day of November 1991 and formally executed on the 10th day of
December 1991 by said contractor and by the Executive Director and
Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of the District is hereby confirmed,
in compliance with Section 9.040 of the Plan of the District.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted December 11, 1991.
