George Heufelder, BCDHE Director, presentation on variances, etc. Mr. Heufelder gave a presentation on criteria for granting variances. The Board talked about having a variance form for engineers to use when requesting them from the Board. It was also brought up that maybe the department should keep a database of all the variances granted. This will be brought up again at the next meeting for discussion. 2. Continued discussion: Pets Banned from Beaches Regulation John Dickson, Selectmen's liaison to the BOH was present. MC asked if there had been any news from the Dog Committee. There was no new news. NI had given out examples of signs to the Board so they could get an idea of what different ones looked like. She stated that the Orleans sign is very clear but they would have to add the fine among other things. The Board agreed that the Regulations wording needs to be changed. The Board agreed to changes for the sign that needs to go up. More education is needed for the public also. The Board agreed to change the dates to May 1St—October 1st that dogs, pets etc. are not allowed on the beach. Fine will be $30.00. The Board will hold a public hearing. They asked that the Police Chief be invited to attend. There was a question as to whether or not this regulation would hold up on Crosby Beach because part of it is State owned. 3. Approve Health Director's new objectives for FY 12 The following were proposed to be the new objectives: 1. To ensure compliance with the MA DEP's administration consent order(get date) for the unpermitted solid waste facility owned by Daniels/Antinarelli stump dump. 2. To work with the IT Department to integrate Health Department data with town-wide data, including GIS; to migrate existing date that is not available in electronic format. 3. To improve user access to information by enhancing the Health Department website; including adding education information for consumers, links to valuable resources, electronic versions of forms and other information used by residents and to organize content in a logical, easy to use format. 4.
