BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING ''

Present: Joanne Hughes, Chairman, Lem Skidmore, Vice Chairman, Keith Johnson, Mary Chaffee, Jose Fernandez, Nancy
Ellis Ice, Health Director and Tammi Mason, Senior Department Assistant.
1. Bob Collett-update on Tobacco Control Program
BC explained to the Board what this program does. He stated that they are looking for the towns to upgrade their
regulations with regards to youth access. He handed out a sample regulation to the Board.
The Board asked NI to put the sample youth access regulation on the next work meeting agenda.
2. Bob Perry-continued variance request for 84 Hazel Lane-keep SAS less than 300'from pond.
BP told the Board that he had done soil testing today. He had new floor plans for the Board to review with
measurements on them and also septic plans. He spoke about the groundwater flow to pond.
Motion: LS-grant variance request with Environmentally Sensitive Area conditions applying. Also pending
Health Department review. KJ seconded. 5 yes.
Keith Johnson left the meeting at 7:50PM
3. Update on Dog Park Committee
The Dog Park Committee is at this point not active. The Board talked about banning dogs from Drummer Boy Park from
May-Oct. The Board asked that NI get a copy of the document from the Town Clerk that states what the Drummer Boy
Park was donated to the Town for. They would also like NI to invite the ACO to a meeting and have her give them a
number on how many complaints she has had from Drummer Boy. Also, check on the number of licensed dogs. The
Board asked that all this be done and a draft regulation be made up and brought back to the next work meeting for
discussion.
4. Discuss revised Variance Request Regulations
Section 3.2 is new and copies were given to the Board. A change needs to be made regarding the Environmentally
Sensitive Area.
5. Discuss check list for variance application (s) form
A few changes were discussed. Make the changes and then it should be fine.
6. Discuss application for variances (s) form
Board thought that it looked fine.
7. Discuss form to assist BOH with Motions&Findings

Board thought that the form was fine.
8. Discuss Falmouth BOH's policy on repairs and new construction
The Board liked this and would like to use it also. The Board thought it would be a good idea to invite engineers to a
meeting so that they could have any questions they might have answered with regards to this new policy.
9. Discuss revised Pets Banned from Ponds, Landings, Beaches&Flats regulation
The Board thought it looked good. Take"draft"off and bring back to the Board for their signatures.
10. Update on 98 Ebenezer
Motion: LS-declare 98 Ebenezer unfit for human habitation. JF seconded. 4 yes.
11. Update on Health Director's objective #3 (improve website)
NI told the Board that everything the Board wanted on the website should be on there now.
Bills were signed by the Chairman.
