O R D I N A N C E NO. 8891
AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Nine Hundred Ninety-five
Thousand Dollars ($995,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund
to be used for project costs for the rehabilitation of combined
sewers in South Baden and Other Bissell Watershed Sewer
Rehabilitation Projects - Phase I (89191), in the Cities of
Jennings and Pine Lawn, Missouri; and confirming a contract with
Affholder, Inc. for the aforesaid rehabilitation, in compliance
with Section 9.040 of the Plan of the District.
WHEREAS, the bid for the rehabilitation of said combined
sewers is Eight Hundred Eight-six Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy
Dollars ($886,970.00), and the cost of engineering, inspection,
construction staking, advertisement costs, and allowance for
construction change orders is One Hundred Eight Thousand Thirty
Dollars ($108,030.00), and
WHEREAS, St. Louis County, Missouri, pursuant to the
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, has agreed to
contribute Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) toward the
total costs of said project; upon the receipt of such funds from
said source, said money will be returned to the Sanitary
Replacement Fund, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there
is an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to
pay the obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Nine Hundred Ninety-five
Thousand Dollars ($995,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the
Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for project costs for the
rehabilitation of combined sewers in South Baden and Other Bissell
Watershed Sewer Rehabilitation Projects - Phase I (89191), in the
Cities of Jennings and Pine Lawn, Missouri.
Section Two. The contract heretofore let by the
Executive Director to Affholder, Inc. as the lowest responsible
bidder for the rehabilitation of combined sewers in South Baden
and Other Bissell Watershed Sewer Rehabilitation Projects - Phase
I (89191), in the Cities of Jennings and Pine Lawn, Missouri, with
The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, pursuant to bids
received and opened on the 8th day of February 1993 and formally
executed on the 9th day of February 1993 by said contractor and by
the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of the
District is hereby confirmed, in compliance with Section 9.040 of
the Plan of the District.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted February 10, 1993.
