AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 2153-1965, AN ORDINANCE ELECTING
TO JOIN THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT FUND.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, adopted
Ordinance No. 2153-1965, entitled "An Ordinance Electing to Join the
Public Employees' Retirement Fund" on September 7, 1965, and
WHEREAS, Section Three thereof excluded from coverage by said fund
elected public officials and it is now recognized as desirable to
cover such elected officials,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RICHMOND IN WAYNE COUNTY, IN THE STATE OF INDIANA:
SECTION ONE: Section Three of Ordinance No. 2153-1965, entitled
"An Ordinance Electing to Join the Public Employees' Retirement
Fund" is now amended to read as follows: The following are declared
to be covered by the fund: All full time employees of the Civil City
of Richmond, Indiana, including elected public officials, and excluding
Policemen and Firemen.
SECTION TWO: The entire participating membership of the elected
public officials of the City of Richmond shall begin on January 1,
1974.
SECTION THREE: Other than as provided in Section One hereof, said
Ordinance No. 2153-1965 shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION FOUR: This Ordinance,as an Amendment to Ordinance No. 2153-
1965, shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval by the Mayor of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and upon
approval by the Board of Trustees of the Public Employees' Retirement
Fund of Indiana, except that active participating membership for elected
public officials shall begin on the date set forth in Section Two.
