An employee who is assigned to work a regular shift on Easter Sunday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the hourly rate for actual hours worked and at the appropriate shift rate. Section Five. An employee regularly assigned to work on a shift basis who is temporarily assigned for a minimum of four (4) hours or longer to a vacancy in a higher-rated Schedule "B" classification shall receive, for the duration of such assignment, a higher-skills rate of one increment or the minimum rate of such higher class, whichever is greater. Higher skills rates may, when approved by appointing authorities, be paid to other employees temporarily assigned to higher-rated Schedule "B" classifications in accordance with the applicable Civil Service Rules and Regulations. Section Six. An employee leaving District service because of Early or Normal Retirement, who has unused accrued sick leave remaining, will be compensated for that portion of such accrued sick leave which is equal to 1-1/4% for each year of District service from the employee's most recent original appointment date. Section Seven. In accordance with the provisions of Section 105.500 - 105.530 R.S.Mo., designated RATES EFFECTIVE JUNE 26, 1995 19 representatives of the District have met, conferred and discussed proposals with representatives of appropriate exclusive bargaining units. The results of such meetings, conferences and discussions have been reduced to writing and are hereby adopted. Section Eight. For purposes of this section, the term "ANNIVERSARY DATE" is defined as the day and the month a regular employee was appointed to his/her present classification in the classified service by means of promotion, reallocation, original appointment, or demotion. If an employee was appointed to his/her present classification by means other than promotion, reallocation, original appointment or demotion, the employee's anniversary date shall be the day and the month the employee was most recently appointed to any classification by promotion, reallocation, original appointment or demotion, and for which the employee successfully completed any required probationary period. The position and salary rate of each classified employee in pay Schedules A and C shall be assigned in the compensation system as follows: From the effective date of this ordinance until the employee's next anniversary date on or after October 1, 1995, the salary rate of each employee's position in pay Schedules A and C shall remain at the same level as that in place immediately prior to the effective date of this ordinance. RATES EFFECTIVE JUNE 26, 1995 20 On each employee's next anniversary date on or after October 1, 1995, the employee's position shall be assigned to a step and grade as set out in Schedules A and C of Section Two of this Ordinance. Each position shall be assigned to the greater of: 1. The step and grade of the employee's classification which is closest to but not less than the employee's salary rate immediately preceding his/her anniversary date; or 2. The step and grade which is one step greater than the step designated in paragraph 1 above if: a) application of paragraph 1 above results in an increase in the employee's salary rate of less than 1% percent over employee's salary rate immediately preceding the employee's anniversary date, and b) the employee's total points on his/her most recent performance evaluation meets or exceeds the number of points designated on Schedules A and C in Section Two of this Ordinance for the step one greater than the step designated in paragraph 1. For purposes of computing salary rate after Displacement, Restoration or Recall of those employees in A and RATES EFFECTIVE JUNE 26, 1995 21 C pay Schedules whose positions are not in a step and grade on the date of the Layoff or Displacement, the employee's salary rate immediately prior to Layoff or Displacement shall be deemed to be the grade and step of the employee's classification which is closest to but not less than the employee's salary rate immediately preceding the date of the Layoff or Displacement. PERIODIC ADVANCEMENT: An employee assigned to the A or C Schedule will be eligible for advancement to the next step of the pay grade after each year of continuous service in a step in the grade if the total points on his/her most recent performance evaluation meets or exceeds the number of points associated with that next step on Schedules A and C in Section Two of this Ordinance. Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed to authorize the increase of an employee's salary rate to a level higher than the highest step in the grade to which the employee's classification is assigned.
