ROLL CALL AND CALL TO ORDER Kevin Briem, Dave Faurot, John Rygh , Ron Rooth and Cynthia Feeley were present. Scotty Davenport was absent II. INTRODUCTION OF GUEST Heartland Gymnastics Recreation and Learning Center Mike Voris Tammy Jackson III. OLD BUSINESS PARKS a.) Riverfront Park Explained to Heartland Gymnastics the history of Riverfront Park and informed them we were asked by City Council to find out exact building sizes they would need for adequate space for a new facility. Mike Voris explained that they would need about 12,000 to 14,000 square feet of space. We informed them that Arts and Humanities would need about 1,000 square feet of space. The committee asked them if they were ready finically to build. They informed the committee that they are not ready yet. In order to be eligible for grants they would need to have a location first. Ron Rooth explained as soon as the snow is gone the committee must find the boundaries for Riverfront Park so we can start in house design work. Ron Rooth said after we get the boundary lines he and I will talk with the City Engineers and get these boundaries on the plot maps. b.) Special Use Permit — Riverfront Park The Special Use Permit has been turned in and we are waiting to here back from the Forest Service. We should be hearing something back this fall. IV. NEW BUSINESS PARKS a.) Opening Parks We have begun clean up and light maintenance work on the City Parks. We still expect some snow and will begin major work as soon as the weather clears. b.) Downtown Flowers Downtown Flowers have been order for this year. The flower baskets were taking to Boise early this week and will be ready for summer. c.) Conditional Use Permit — Fish Pen Docks We are finishing up a Conditional Use Permit for the Fish Pen Docks. We need to have a Conditional Use Permit from the City before we can go any further. The Conditional Use Permit will go in front of the Planning and Zoning Committee next week. RECREATION a.) After School Program The After School Program is running smoothly. The Recreation Coordinator will be running the program for a week while the After School Program Coordinator is out on vacation. We are looking at stopping the program after this semester due to an increase in After School Programs in McCall. We do not see this as a bad ending, we are happy to be one of the first After School Programs and it is nice to see others in the Community begin to follow the idea. b.) Adult Dodge Ball Adult Dodge Ball finished last week. We had about 40 participants. The participants would like to see us run the program twice next year, once in November and once in March. We are grateful to see this program run and have so many participants. c.) Mini Vandals Basketball Clinic The Mini Vandals Basketball Clinic ended also ended last week. We had 20 participants and had a successful program. Next year we are going to work with the High School Principal and Athletic Director to increase participation in youth basketball and hope to see a league next year. V. SET NEXT MEETING AND AGENDA Meeting ended at 7:30. Next meeting April 12th at 6 p.m. located at the Airport. The City of McCall's Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee meetings are held open to the public and handicapped accessible.
