Home My Public Portal AboutResolution 75-1506RESOLUTION NO. 75 -1506 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY REQUESTING THAT THE CORPORATE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY BE IN- CLUDED IN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TEMPLE CITY POST OFFICE WHEREAS, the boundaries of the Temple City Post Office were established prior to incorporation of the City of Temple City in 1960; and WHEREAS, only the addresses located within the aforesaid Post Office boundaries are allowed to bear a "Temple City" mailing address; and WHEREAS, the aforesaid Post Office boundaries do not in- clude a substantial portion of property and businesses which are located within the corporate boundaries of the City of Tem- ple City; and WHEREAS, properties and businesses are in the anomalous position of having to inform customers and correspondents that all mail must bear the name of another city even though the prop- erty is located within the City of Temple City; and WHEREAS, said situation can cause inconvenience, hardship and expense to those properties and businesses so involved. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Temple City does hereby petition and request that the United States Postal Service modify the boundaries of the Temple City Post Office so that said boundaries include the corporate boundaries of the City of Temple City. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adop- tion of this Resolution and shall mail a copy thereof to the Postmasters for Temple City, San Gabriel, and Arcadia Post Offices. APPROVED and ADOPTED this 16th ay of December, 1975.
