HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0021 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 21 WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from property owners in the area known as Glenmary Subdivision in Olivette not included in any subdistrict for the construction of lateral sewers to serve such area; and WHEREAS, investigation has shown the necessity for such improvement by reason of the fact that said area is presently served by septic tanks, which are inefficient in such a congested area, and the effluent of which creates a nuisance in said area and the surrounding territory; and WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the probable cost of the installation of such lateral sewers will be $12,000.00 and that the most practicable method of payment therefor is by special tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon the real property included in such area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that lateral sewers be constructed in the area of Glenmary Subdivision described as follows: Beginning at a point in the north line of Old Bonhomme Road, being also the southwest corner of Glenmary Subdivision, a subdivision in the City of Olivette, St. Louis County, Missouri as recorded in Plat Book 43, Page 63 of the St. Louis County Recorder's office; thence north 1Ε 0' east along the west line of Glenmary Subdivision a distance of 945.87' to the northwest corner of said subdivision; thence south 68Ε 35' east along the north line of Glenmary Subdivision, a distance of 397.92' to the northeast corner of said subdivision; thence south 0Ε 53' west along the east line of Glenmary Subdivision and its prolongation to a point in the north line of Old Bonhomme Road; thence South 73Ε 24' west along the north line of Old Bonhomme Road, a distance of 178.82' to a point; thence south 86Ε 43' west, a distance of 204.32' to the point of beginning. Such sewers to be connected with a certain trunk line sewer presently installed in the Olivette Sanitary Sewer District, the connection to be made at an existing manhole in such trunk line sewer; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that special benefit assessments be levied against all real property within the boundaries hereinbefore delineated in the proportion that the area each parcel of real property bears to the entire area within the boundaries of the special benefit subdistrict; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held at Number 3 Glenmary Road at the hour of 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 4, 1955, and that notice of such hearing be given by the posting of notices in not less than three public places within the boundaries of the proposed benefit subdistrict, and by the distribution of hand bills among the residents in such benefit subdistrict, for the purpose of determining whether or not it is in the public interest that such improvement, or any part thereof, be made. The above Resolution was adopted April 18, 1955.
