WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from
property owners in the area known as Glenmary Subdivision in
Olivette not included in any subdistrict for the construction of
lateral sewers to serve such area; and
WHEREAS, investigation has shown the necessity for such
improvement by reason of the fact that said area is presently
served by septic tanks, which are inefficient in such a congested
area, and the effluent of which creates a nuisance in said area
and the surrounding territory; and
WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the probable cost
of the installation of such lateral sewers will be $12,000.00 and
that the most practicable method of payment therefor is by special
tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon
the real property included in such area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that lateral sewers be
constructed in the area of Glenmary Subdivision described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the north line of Old Bonhomme Road,
being also the southwest corner of Glenmary Subdivision, a
subdivision in the City of Olivette, St. Louis County,
Missouri as recorded in Plat Book 43, Page 63 of the St.
Louis County Recorder's office; thence north 1Ε 0' east along
the west line of Glenmary Subdivision a distance of 945.87'
to the northwest corner of said subdivision; thence south 68Ε
35' east along the north line of Glenmary Subdivision, a
distance of 397.92' to the northeast corner of said
subdivision; thence south 0Ε 53' west along the east line of
Glenmary Subdivision and its prolongation to a point in the
north line of Old Bonhomme Road; thence South 73Ε 24' west
along the north line of Old Bonhomme Road, a distance of
178.82' to a point; thence south 86Ε 43' west, a distance of
204.32' to the point of beginning.
Such sewers to be connected with a certain trunk line
sewer presently installed in the Olivette Sanitary Sewer District,
the connection to be made at an existing manhole in such trunk
line sewer; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that special benefit
assessments be levied against all real property within the
boundaries hereinbefore delineated in the proportion that the area
each parcel of real property bears to the entire area within the
boundaries of the special benefit subdistrict; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held
at Number 3 Glenmary Road at the hour of 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday,
May 4, 1955, and that notice of such hearing be given by the
posting of notices in not less than three public places within the
boundaries of the proposed benefit subdistrict, and by the
distribution of hand bills among the residents in such benefit
subdistrict, for the purpose of determining whether or not it is
in the public interest that such improvement, or any part thereof,
be made. The above Resolution was adopted April 18, 1955.
