HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0022 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 22 RESOLUTION NUMBER 13, adopted September 20, 1954, is hereby repealed, and the following Resolution relating to the same subject is adopted in lieu thereof: WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from property owners in the section of Vinita Park not included in any subdistrict for the construction of lateral sewers to serve such area; and WHEREAS, investigation has shown the necessity for such improvement by reason of the fact that said area is presently served by septic tanks, which are inefficient in such a congested area, and the effluent of which creates a nuisance in said area and the surrounding territory; and WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the probable cost of the installation of such lateral sewers will be $36,000.00, and that the most practicable method of payment therefor is by special tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon the real property included in such area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that lateral sewers be constructed in the area of Vinita Park described as follows: That area in Southeastern Vinita Park bounded on the east by the western line of Creve Coeur Drive and the western line of Creve Coeur Drive extended to the centerline of Page Boulevard; thence eastwardly along the said centerline of said Page Boulevard to the centerline of Hanley Road; thence southwardly along the said centerline of Hanley Road to its intersection with the rear line of lots fronting on the south side of Page Boulevard; on the west by North and South Road; on the south by the rear line of lots fronting on the south side of Page Boulevard (which is south limit of Vinita Park and north limit of University City); and on the north by the line midway between Madison Street and Monroe Street (rear of lots fronting on north side of Madison Street). Such sewers to be connected with a certain trunk line sewer presently installed in University City, the connection to be made at the boundary line between University City and Vinita Park; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that special benefit assessments be levied against all real property within the boundaries hereinbefore delineated in the proportion that the area each parcel of real property bears to the entire area within the boundaries of the special benefit subdistrict; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held in Vinita Park at such time and place as the Executive Director shall determine, and that notice of such hearing be given by the posting of notices in not less than three public places within the boundaries of the proposed benefit subdistrict, and by the distribution of hand bills among the residents in such benefit subdistrict, for the purpose of determining whether or not it is in the public interest that such improvement, or any part thereof, be made. The above Resolution was adopted May 2, 1955.
