HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0028 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 28 WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from property owners in the area of Hilltop Drive and Alice Place in the Town of Olivette not included in any subdistrict for the construction of lateral sewers to serve such area; and WHEREAS, investigation has shown the necessity for such improvement by reason of the fact that said area is presently served by septic tanks, which are inefficient in such a congested area, and the effluent of which creates a nuisance in said area and the surrounding territory; and WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the probable cost of the installation of such lateral sewers will be $11,000.00, and that the most practicable method of payment therefor is by special tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon the real property included in such area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that lateral sewers be constructed in the area of the Town of Olivette described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the centerline of Hilltop Drive (60' wide) with the centerline of Alice Place (40' wide); thence in a westerly direction along the centerline of Alice Place (40' wide) to the point of intersection of the said line with the centerline of Olivette Drive (30' wide); thence in a northerly direction along the centerline of Olivette Drive, a distance of 5' more or less to its point of intersection with the centerline of Alice Place (30' wide); thence in a westerly direction along the centerline of Alice Place (30' wide) to its point of intersection with the centerline of Orchard Drive; thence in a northerly direction along the centerline of Orchard Drive to its point of intersection with the north line of the Olivette Sanitary Sewer District; thence in an easterly direction along the said north line of the Olivette Sanitary Sewer District to its point of intersection with the east line of property belonging of record to Harold C. Koch and Violet F. Koch, his wife; thence in a northerly direction along the said east property line to its point of intersection with the north line of Lot 9 of Locust Grove Subdivision, a subdivision in the Town of Olivette, St. Louis County, Missouri, as recorded in Plat Book 3, Page 69, of the City of St. Louis, formerly County, records; thence in an easterly direction along the said north lot line and its prolongation eastwardly to its point of intersection with the centerline of Hilltop Drive (60' wide); thence in a southerly direction along the centerline of Hilltop Drive to the point of beginning. Such sewers to be connected with a certain trunk line sewer presently installed in the Town of Olivette, Missouri, the connection to be made in Margaret Lane; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that special benefit assessments be levied against all real property within the boundaries hereinbefore delineated in the proportion that the area each parcel of real property bears to the entire area within the 3 boundaries of the special benefit subdistrict; and 4 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held in the Town of Olivette at such time and place as the Executive Director shall determine, and that notice of such hearing be given by the posting of notices in not less than three public places within the boundaries of the proposed benefit subdistrict; and by the distribution of hand bills among the residents in such benefit subdistrict, for the purpose of determining whether or not it is in the public interest that such improvement, or any part thereof, be made. The foregoing Resolution was adopted August 15, 1955.
