WHEREAS, the District has heretofore adopted Ordinance
No. 26, establishing the Maline Creek Trunk Subdistrict, and
delineating the boundaries thereof; and
WHEREAS, it is the sense of the Board of Trustees of
the District that it is necessary, in the interest of the public
health of the District, that improvements be made in the
Subdistrict established by Ordinance No. 26;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT that an improvement
in the Maline Creek Trunk Subdistrict is necessary in the interest
of public health, and that the improvement shall consist of a
sanitary trunk sewer to connect with the western terminus of the
sanitary sewer now serving the City of Bellefontaine Neighbors and
extending westerly therefrom up the Maline Creek valley to a point
near the western end of the Maline Creek Watershed. Such sanitary
trunk sewer to be of sufficient size and capacity to provide
adequate sanitary sewer service for the estimated ultimate
population of the Maline Creek Watershed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, based upon the
preliminary plans prepared for that purpose available to this
Board, and upon the advice of its Executive Director, it is
estimated the probable cost of such sanitary trunk sewer will be
One Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000.00), and
that funds to pay for such improvement shall be derived from the
sale of general obligation bonds, payable both principal and
interest, by and from an annual tax on all taxable tangible
property within said subdistrict, provided such bonds are
authorized by a vote of the registered voters in the Maline Creek
Trunk Subdistrict at an election to be hereafter held for that
purpose, in accordance with the Plan of the District. The foregoing Resolution was adopted October 17, 1955.
