WHEREAS, George C. Willson has tendered his resignation
from the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District to the Hon. Mayor of the City of St. Louis, and the Mayor
has reluctantly accepted Mr. Willson's resignation; and
WHEREAS, this Board wishes to express its deep
appreciation to Mr. Willson for his services to the District and
the residents of the District as a member and the first Chairman
of this Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
The Board deeply regrets that the condition of Mr.
Willson's health precludes him from continuing to serve on the

During the period he served on the Board, he gave
unstintedly of his time to the affairs of the District. As the
first Chairman of the Board, he led and directed the District
through the trying times of its formative period. His sound
judgment and realistic approach to the manifold problems, his
grasp of and tireless efforts to solve such problems, his
patience, tact, foresight and good humor, have been an inspiration
to the other members of the Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this expression
of regret and of our hope for a speedy restoration of his health
be forwarded to Mr. Willson.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted October 24, 1955.
