WHEREAS, by Section 3.010 of the Plan of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District it is provided that in order
to assure continuity of operation and maintenance of the existing
sanitary and stormwater sewer systems and facilities within the
District, each municipality, sewer district or other public agency
within the District shall continue to maintain and operate such
systems and facilities until this Board shall by resolution set a
date on which the District shall undertake the maintenance and
operation of said systems and facilities; and
WHEREAS, the adoption of a sewer service charge for the
use of its sewers by this District has assured the District of
income sufficient to maintain and operate all sanitary and
stormwater sewer systems and facilities within the boundaries of
the District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that on and after the
1st day of January, 1956, the District shall undertake the
maintenance and operation of all sanitary and stormwater sewer
systems and facilities heretofore operated and maintained by each
municipality, sewer district or other public agency within the
boundaries of the District, and on and after such date the
District shall exclusively operate, maintain and control said
systems and facilities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution
shall be furnished to each municipality, sewer district or other
public agency presently operating and maintaining sanitary and
stormwater systems and facilities within the boundaries of this
District.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted December 5, 1955.
