HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0058 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 58 WHEREAS, the District has heretofore adopted Ordinance No. 24 establishing Subdistrict Number One of the River des Peres Watershed of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District and delineating the boundaries thereof; and WHEREAS, it is the sense of the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District that it is necessary, in the interest of the public health of the District, that improvements be made in the subdistrict established by Ordinance No. 24; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT that an improvement in Subdistrict Number One of the River des Peres Watershed of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District is necessary in the interest of public health, and that the improvement shall consist of a system of trunk and subtrunk sanitary sewers to be connected to an existing sanitary trunk sewer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. Such system of trunk and subtrunk sanitary sewers to be of sufficient size and capacity to provide adequate sanitary sewer service for the estimate ultimate population of Subdistrict Number One of the River des Peres Watershed of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, based upon the preliminary plans prepared for that purpose available to this Board, and upon the advice of its Executive Director, it is estimated that the probable cost of such system of trunk and subtrunk sanitary sewers will be Six Hundred Seventy Five Thousand Dollars ($675,000.00), and that funds to pay for such improvement shall be derived from the sale of general obligation bonds, payable both principal and interest, by and from an annual tax on all taxable tangible property within said subdistrict, provided such bonds are authorized by a vote of the registered voters in Subdistrict Number One of the River des Peres Watershed of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District at an election to be hereafter held for that purpose, in accordance with the Plan of the District. 3 The foregoing Resolution was adopted May 14, 1956.
