HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0068 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 68 WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from property owners in Springdale Lake Sites Subdivision, a subdivision of St. Louis County, Missouri not included in any subdistrict for the construction of lateral sewers to serve such area. WHEREAS, investigation has shown the necessity for such improvement by reason of the fact that said area is presently served by septic tanks, which are inefficient in such a congested area, and the effluent of which creates a nuisance in said area and the surrounding territory; and WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the probable cost of the installation of such lateral sears will be Sixteen Thousand Dollars ($16,000.00), and that the most practicable method of payment therefore is by special tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon real property included in such area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the construction of sanitary sewers in said area is necessary in order to protect the health of the residents therein, that such sewers shall be lateral sanitary sewers available to each parcel of property in the area; that the estimated cost of constructing such lateral sewers is Sixteen Thousand Dollars ($16,000.00); that such costs shall be paid for by special tax bills or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon the real property in the area; and that such lateral sewers be constructed in the area of Springdale Lake Sites Subdivision described as follows: 3 Beginning at a point which is the intersection of the centerline of Rozier Drive and the southerly line of Severin Drive as shown on plat of Springdale Lake Sites; a subdivision recorded in Plat Book 37, Page 13 in the office of the Recorder of Deeds, St. Louis County Missouri; thence eastwardly along said southerly line of Severin Drive to a point which is the intersection of said southerly line and the prolongation of the northerly line of Lot 79 of said subdivision; thence northeasterly along said prolongation and along the northerly line of said Lot 79 to the northeast corner thereof; thence southerly along the easternmost lot line of Lots 79 through 69 to the southeast corner of Lot 69 of said subdivision; thence westwardly along the southernmost lot line of Lots 68, 67, 47 and 46 to the southwest corner of said Lot 46 of said subdivision; thence northwardly along the westernmost line of Lots 45 through 36 to the northwest corner of Lot 36 of said subdivision, which point is also in the southerly line of Severin Drive; thence in a straight line northwestwardly across Severin Drive to the intersection of the northerly line of Severin Drive and a point in the southernmost line of Lot 90 of said subdivision, 25 feet east of the southwest corner of said Lot 90; thence northwardly along a line 25 feet from and parallel to the westernmost line of Lot 90 to the northernmost line of said Lot 90; thence eastwardly along the northernmost line of Lots 90 and 89 to the northeast corner of said Lot 89 of said 4 subdivision; thence southwardly along the easternmost line of Lot 89 and the prolongation thereof to the southerly line of Severin Drive; thence eastwardly along said southerly line to the point of beginning. which said area shall be and the same is hereby designated Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 10 and such sewers therein to be connected to an existing sanitary sewer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District located in Peace Street in St. Louis County, Missouri, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that special benefit assessments be levied against all real property within the boundaries hereinbefore delineated in the proportion that the area each parcel of real property bears to the entire area within the boundaries of the special benefit subdistrict; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held in the Proposed Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 10 at such time and place as the Executive Director shall determine, and that notice of such hearing be given by the posting of notices in not less than three public places within the boundaries of the proposed benefit subdistrict; and by the distribution of hand bills among the residents in such benefit subdistrict, for the purpose of determining whether or not it is in the public interest that such improvement, or any part thereof, be made. 5 The foregoing Resolution was adopted June 11, 1956.
