WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St.
Louis Sewer District has considered Senate Bill No. 25 of the 69th
General Assembly of Missouri, relating to pollution of waters of
this State and providing for the prevention and regulation
thereof; and
WHEREAS, it is the sense of the Board of Trustees that
it is in favor of the principle of prevention and control of the
pollution of waters of the State;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Plan of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District gives the District adequate
powers to prevent and to regulate the pollution of waters within
the area of its boundaries;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in the judgment of the
Board of Trustees, Senate Bill No. 25 in the form in which it was
introduced in the Senate would unduly hamper and restrain the
activities of the District in its efforts to provide for adequate
sewers and for the proper treatment of sewage.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the entire purpose of
Senate Bill No. 25 can be fully realized by proper amendment of
the Bill, as introduced, to provide for exclusion therefrom of
areas of the size and density of population of The Metropolitan
St. Louis Sewer District.
The foregoing Resolution adopted February 18, 1957
