WHEREAS, the City and the St. Louis District, Corps of
Engineers, have heretofore jointly entered into a Memorandum of
Understanding, whereby the City agrees to act as local sponsor in
accordance with authorizing legislation, for the purpose of
promoting coordination of planning, design and construction of the
authorized flood protection project for the City of St. Louis;
WHEREAS, portions of said Memorandum of Understanding
entered into between the City and the St. Louis District, Corps of
Engineers, relate to drainage, pumping and sewerage facilities,
which facilities are under the sole jurisdiction, control and
supervision of the Sewer District;
WHEREAS, both the City and the Sewer District are
desirous of coordinating their activities in order to achieve
effective cooperation with the St. Louis District, Corps of
Engineers, in order that the project might be accomplished in the
shortest possible time, and the benefits of adequate flood
protection realized by the City and the Sewer District:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT, that the Executive
Director is hereby authorized to enter into the attached
Memorandum of Understanding with the City of St. Louis in order to
achieve effective cooperation with the City of St. Louis and the
Corps of Engineers, so that the benefits of adequate flood
protection may be realized as soon as possible by the City of St.
Louis and this District.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted March 18, 1957.
