WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from
property owners on a portion of Kenneth Avenue in the City of
Olivette, not included in any subdistrict for the construction of
sewers to serve such area; and
WHEREAS, investigation has shown the necessity for such
improvement by reason of the fact that said area is not now served
by sewers; and
WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the probable cost
of the installation of such sanitary sewers will be approximately
$1,200.00 and that the most practicable method of payment therefor
is by special tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit
assessments upon the real property which shall be found to be
benefited by such improvement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a special benefit
subdistrict to be known as Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 27 of
The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District be and the same is
hereby created for the purpose of constructing sewers in a portion
of Kenneth Avenue, in the City of Olivette, Missouri, said
subdistrict to be described as follows:
Beginning at a point, said point being the Southeast corner of Lot
9 of Block 2 of Olivette Subdivision as recorded on
Page 2 of Plat Book 22 of the St. Louis County Records;
thence in a westerly direction along the North line of
Kenneth Avenue to the Southwest corner of a lot now or
formerly owned by Helen Schoenhoff as recorded by deed
on Page 220 of Book 2927 of the St. Louis County
Records; thence northwardly along the West line of said
Schoenhoff lot to the Northwest corner of said lot;
thence eastwardly alone the North line of said lot and
its easterly prolongatIon to the Northeast corner of
said Lot 9; thence southwardly along the East line of
said Lot 9 to the point of beginning.
Such sewers to be connected with a certain existing public sewer
of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that special benefit
assessments be levied against all real property which shall be
found to be benefited by the said construction in the proportion
that the area each such parcel of real property bears to the
entire benefited area exclusive of public streets; roads and
alleys within the said benefited area; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing be held
within said Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 27 at such time and
place as the Executive Director shall determine, and that notice
of such hearing be given by the distribution of hand bills among
the residents within the boundaries of the proposed Special
Benefit Subdistrict for the purpose of determining whether or not
it is in the public interest that such improvement, or any part
thereof be made.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted June 17, 1957.
