HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0136 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 136 WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from property owners in the area of Reavis Avenue and Vira Avenue in the City of Webster Groves, St. Louis County, Missouri, not included in any subdistrict for the construction of sanitary sewers to serve such area; and WHEREAS, investigation has shown the necessity for such improvement by reason of the fact that said area is not now served by sewers; and WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the probable cost of the installation of such sanitary sewers will be approximately Thirty-five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00), and that the most practicable method of payment therefor is by special tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon the real property which shall be found to be benefitted by such improvement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a special benefit subdistrict to be known as Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 34 of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District be and the same is hereby created for the purpose of constructing sanitary sewers in the area of Reavis Avenue and Vira Avenue in the City of Webster Groves, St. Louis County, Missouri, said subdistrict to be described as follows: Beginning at a point, said point being the intersection of the centerline of Rock Hill Road, 40' wide, and the southwest prolongation of the northwest line of Block B of Reavis Place Subdivision, as recorded in Plat Book 6 on Page 54 of the St. Louis County Records; thence northwardly along said centerline of Rock Hill Road to its intersection with the eastern prolongation of the north line of Lot 7 of Maelln Place Subdivision, as recorded in Plat Book 22 on Page 94 of the St. Louis County Records; thence westwardly along said produced line and said north line of Lot 7 to its intersection with the east line of Lot 8 of said Maelln Place Subdivision; thence northwardly along said east line of Lot 8 to the northeast corner of said Lot 8; thence westwardly and southwestwardly along the north line of said Lot 8 to the westernmost corner of said Lot 8; thence southwestwardly along the northwest lines of Lots 9, 10 and 11 of said Maelln Place Subdivision to the northwest corner of said Lot 11; thence southwardly along the west line of said Lot 11 to the southernmost corner of said Lot 11; thence southwestwardly along a line parallel to and 261.98' from the southernmost line of Big Bend Boulevard, 40' wide, said 261.98' being measured perpendicular to said southernmost line of Big Bend Boulevard, to its intersection with a line parallel to and 850' from the west line of Big Bend Park Subdivision, as recorded in Plat Book 8 on Page 135 of the St. Louis County Records, said 850' being measured perpendicular to said west line of Big Bend Park Subdivision; thence southwardly along last mentioned parallel line a distance of 700' to a point on said parallel line; thence southeastwardly along a straight line to a point on the north line of Webster Oaks Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 46 on Page 39 of the St. Louis County Records, said point being 550' west of the east line of said subdivision; thence eastwardly along said north line of Webster Oaks Subdivision to its intersection with the west line of Webster Downs Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 54 on Page 39 of the St. Louis County Records; thence northwardly along said west line of Webster Downs Subdivision to its intersection with the north line of said subdivision; thence eastwardly along said north line of said subdivision to its intersection with the southern prolongation of the east line of Lots 17 through 20 of said Big Bend Park Subdivision; thence northwardly along said produced line and said line of Lots 17 through 20 of said Big Bend Park Subdivision and along the northern prolongation of said line to its intersection with the centerline of Rock Hill Road; thence southeastwardly along said centerline to its intersection with the southwestern prolongation of the southeast line of Block C of said Reavis Place Subdivision; thence northeastwardly along said produced line and said southeast line of Block C to the easternmost corner of Lot 19 of said Block C; thence northwestwardly along the northeast line of said Lot 19 to the northernmost corner of said Lot 19; thence in a straight line across Reavis Avenue, 50' wide, to the easternmost corner of Lot 14 of Block B of said Reavis Place Subdivision; thence northwestwardly along the northeast line of said Lot 14 to the northernmost corner of said Lot 14; thence southwestwardly along the northwest line of said Block B of said Reavis Place Subdivision and along the southwestern prolongation of said northwest line to the point of beginning. Such sewers to be connected with a certain existing private sewer owned by Russell & Company. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that special benefit assessments be levied against all real property which shall be found to be benefitted by the said construction in the proportion that the area each such parcel of real property bears to the entire benefitted area exclusive of public streets, roads and alleys within the said benefitted area, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held within said Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 34 at such time and place as the Executive Director shall determine, and that notice of such hearing be given by the posting of notices in not less than three public places and by the distribution of hand bills among the residents within the boundaries of the proposed special benefit subdistrict for the purpose of determining whether or not it is in the public interest that such improvement, or any part thereof, be made. 5 The foregoing Resolution was adopted August 5, 1957.
