WHEREAS, operation of the Maintenance Department of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has shown the need for
radio-equipped emergency vehicles to use more efficiently the
personnel and vehicles responsible for such emergency maintenance,
and
WHEREAS, the District is eligible for federal
assistance in the purchase of mobile radio equipment if it can be
made available to the Federal Civil Defense Administration under
emergency condition, and
WHEREAS, in order to operate such equipment a license
is required from the Federal Communication Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by The Board of Trustees
of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District that the Executive
Director is hereby authorized to make application to the Federal
Civil Defense Administration for Federal assistance in purchasing
such radio equipment and to the Federal Communication Commission
for a license to operate the equipment and the Director of Finance
be authorized to enter into a contract with Motorola
Communications and Electronics, Inc. for the purchase of such
mobile radio equipment.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted November 12, 1957.
