HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0159 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 159 WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from property owners in the Lakewood Area in St. Louis County, Missouri, for the construction of sanitary lateral sewers to serve such area; and WHEREAS, investigation has shown the necessity for such improvement by reason of the fact that said area is not now served by sewers; and WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the probable cost of the installation of such sanitary lateral sewers will be approximately Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00), and that the most practicable method of payment therefor is by special tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon the real property which shall be found to be benefitted by such improvement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a special benefit subdistrict to be known as Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 42 of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District be and the same is hereby created for the purpose of constructing sanitary lateral sewers in the Lakewood area in St. Louis County, Missouri, said subdistrict to be described as follows: Beginning at a point, said point being the intersection of the north line of Heege Road and the west line of Harlan Street; thence northwardly along said west line of Harlan Street to its intersection with the north line of Lot 10 of Block 43; thence westwardly along the north line of said Lot 10 and Lot 1 of said Block 43 to its intersection with the east line of Ivanhoe Street; thence northwardly along the northward prolongation of said east line of said Ivanhoe Street to its intersection with the westward prolongation of the south line of Block 39 of said Lakewood Subdivision and said line also being the north boundary line of Subdistrict No. 4 of the River des Peres Watershed (North Affton); thence eastwardly along said prolongation to its intersection with the east line of Harlan Street; thence northwardly along said east line of Harlan Street to the northwest corner of Lot 12 of Block 38 of Lakewood Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 6 on Pages 24 and 25 of the St. Louis County Records; thence eastwardly along the north line of said Lot 12 to its northeast corner; thence northwardly along the west line of Lots 14 through 19 of said Block 38 to the northwest corner of said Lot 19; thence eastwardly along the north line of said Lot 19 and said line projected across Genesta Street to the southwest corner of Lot 5 of Block 33 of said subdivision; thence northwardly along the west line of said Lot 5 and Lot 4 of said Block 33 to the northwest corner of said Lot 4; thence eastwardly along the north line of said Lot 4 to the northeast corner of said Lot 4; thence northwardly along the west line of Lots 22, 23 and 24 of said Block 33 to its intersection with the south line of Fourth Avenue; thence eastwardly along the south line of Fourth Avenue to its intersection with the city limits line of the City of St. Louis; thence southeastwardly along the said city limits line to its intersection with the west line of Lot 10 of Block 9 of said subdivision; thence southwardly along said west line to the southwest corner of said Lot 9; thence eastwardly along the south line of said Lot 9 to its intersection with said city limits line; thence southeastwardly along said city limits line to its intersection with the north line of Lot 4 of Block 5 of said subdivision; thence eastwardly along the north line of said Lot 4 to the northeast corner of said Lot 4; thence southwardly along the east line of said Lot 4 and Lots 5 through 12 of said Block 5 to its intersection with the north line of Seth Avenue; thence eastwardly along the north line of said Seth Avenue to its intersection with the east line of Admont Avenue; thence northwardly along the east line of Admont Avenue to its intersection with said city limits line; thence southeastwardly along said city limits line to the easternmost corner of Lot 9 of Block 1 of said subdivision; thence southwestwardly along the southeast line of said Block 1 to the southernmost corner of Lot 27 of said Block 1; thence southwestwardly in a straight line to the northernmost corner of Lot 35 of said Block 1; thence southeastwardly along the northeast line of said Lot 35 to its easternmost corner; thence southwestwardly along the southeast line of said Lot 35 to its southernmost corner; thence northwestwardly along the southwestern line of said Lot 35 and said line projected to the north line of Grant Blvd.; thence westwardly along said north line of Grant Blvd. to its intersection with the north line of Heege Road; thence westwardly along said north line of Heege Road to the point of beginning. Such sewers to be connected with a certain existing public sewer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that special benefit assessments be levied against all real property which shall be found to be benefited by the said construction in the proportion that the area each such parcel of real property bears to the entire benefited area exclusive of public streets, roads and alleys within the said benefited area; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held within said Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 42 at such time and place as the Executive Director shall determine, and that notice of such hearing be given by the posting of notices in not less than three public places within the boundaries of the proposed special benefit subdistrict for the purpose of determining whether or not it is in the public interest that such improvement, or any part thereof, be made. 5 The foregoing Ordinance was adopted February 10, 1958.
