HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0181 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 181 WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from property owners in the area of Meadowlark Avenue in the City of Jennings in St. Louis County, Missouri, not included in any subdistrict for the construction of sanitary sewers to serve such area; and WHEREAS, investigation has shown the necessity for such improvement by reason of the fact that said area is not now served by sewers; and WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the probable cost of the installation of such sanitary sewers will be approximately Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), and that the most practicable method of payment therefor is by special tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon the land which shall be found to be benefitted by such improvement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a special benefit subdistrict to be known as Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 55 of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District be and the same is hereby created for the purpose of constructing sanitary sewers in the area of Meadowlark Avenue in the City of Jennings in St. Louis County, Missouri, said subdistrict to be described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection where the north line of the Western Wabash Railway right-of-way and the southwest line of Huiskamp Avenue, 50' wide intersect the northwest line of Hord Avenue, 60' wide; thence in a northwestwardly direction along the south line of Blocks 1 and 2 of Ben Avis Park Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 3 on Page 34 of the St. Louis County Records to the most southwest corner of Lot 1 Block 2 of said Ben Avis Park Subdivision; thence northwardly along the west line of said Ben Avis Park Subdivision to the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 6 of said Ben Avis Park Subdivision; thence eastwardly along the north line of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 of said Block 6 to the northeast corner of said Lot 4; thence northeastwardly in a straight line across Gillette Avenue to the northwest corner of Lot 1 of Block 7 of said Ben Avis Park Subdivision; thence eastwardly along the north line of said Lot 1 to the northeast corner of said Lot 1; thence southwardly along the east line of said Lot 1 to the southeast corner of said Lot 1; thence southwardly in a straight line across Solway Avenue, 50' wide to the most northeastern corner of Lot 8, Block 4 of said Ben Avis Park Subdivision; thence southwardly along the east line of said Lot 8 to the most southeastern corner of aforementioned Lot 8; thence eastwardly along the north line of Lots 2, 3 and 4 of said Block 4 to the northeast corner of said Lot 4; thence southeastwardly across Huiskamp Avenue to a point in the east line of Huiskamp Avenue, said point being 50' north of the southwest corner of Lot 4 of North Woodland Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 8 on Page 38 of the St. Louis County Records; thence in an eastwardly direction along a line 50' north of and parallel to the south line of said Lot 4 to a point in the east line of said Lot 4; thence southwardly along the east line of Lots 4, 3, 2 and 1 of said North Woodland Subdivision to a point in the north line of Glendale Avenue, 50' wide; thence southwestwardly in a straight line across Glendale Avenue to the northeast corner of Lot 7 of Hords Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 1 on Page 78 of the St. Louis County Records; thence southwardly along the east line of Lots 7, 4 and 3 of said Hords Subdivision to its intersection with the north line of Lot 7 of Janes Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 15 on Page 95 of the St. Louis County Records; thence eastwardly along said north line of said Lot 7 to the northeast corner of said Lot 7; thence southwardly along the east line of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 to the southernmost corner of said Lot 12; thence southwardly across Huiskamp Avenue to the point of beginning. Such sewers to be connected with a certain existing public sewer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that special benefit assessments be levied against all land which shall be found to be benefitted by the said construction in the proportion that the area each such parcel of land bears to the entire benefitted area exclusive of public streets, roads and alleys within the said benefitted area; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held within said Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 55 at such time and place as the Executive Director shall determine, and that notice of such hearing be given by the posting of notices in not less than three public places within the boundaries of the proposed 4 special benefit subdistrict for the purpose of determining whether or not it is in the public interest that such improvement, or any part thereof, be made. 5 The foregoing Resolution was adopted May 26, 1958.
