HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0184 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 184 WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from property owners in the area of Ennis Avenue in St. Louis County, Missouri, for the construction of sanitary lateral sewers to serve such area; and WHEREAS, investigation has shown the necessity for such improvement by reason of the fact that said area is not now served by sewers; and WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the probable cost of the installation of such sanitary lateral sewers will be approximately Nineteen Thousand Dollars ($19,000.00), and that the most practicable method of payment therefor is by special tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon the land which shall be found to be benefitted by such improvement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a special benefit subdistrict to be known as Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 58 (Ennis Avenue) of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District be and the same is hereby created for the purpose of constructing sanitary lateral sewers in the area of Ennis Avenue in St. Louis County, Missouri, said subdistrict to be described as follows: Beginning at a point, said point being the intersection of the east line of Lot 19 of Block 1 of Nast's Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 9 on Page 59 of the St. Louis County Records with the westward prolongation of the south line of Allison Avenue 30 feet wide; thence westwardly in a straight line to its intersection with the northward prolongation of the west line of Lot 10 of said Block 1 of said Nast's Subdivision at a point 100' north of the north line of Reasnor Avenue 20 feet wide as measured along said prolongation; thence southwardly along said prolongation and along said west line of said Lot 10 to the southwest corner of said Lot 10; thence eastwardly along the south line of said Lot 10 and said line projected eastwardly to the centerline of Ennis Avenue 20 feet wide; thence southwardly along said centerline to the centerline of Almentor Avenue 40 feet wide; thence westwardly along said centerline of Almentor Avenue to the centerline of Ennis Avenue 40 feet wide; thence southwardly along said centerline to its intersection with a line parallel to and 150' south of the south line of Almentor Avenue as measured along the west line of Ennis Avenue; thence westwardly along said parallel line to its intersection with the west line of Lot 3 of Block 2 of Mentor Place Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 3 on Page 24 of the St. Louis County Records; thence southwardly along said west line of said Lot 3 and Lot 4 of said Block 2 to its intersection with a line parallel to and 150' north of the north line of Thornton Avenue as measured along said west line of said Lot 4; thence eastwardly along said parallel line to the east line of Ennis Avenue; thence southwardly along the east line of Ennis Avenue to the northwest corner of a lot now or formerly owned by William S. and Rosella A. Hardy as recorded in Deed Book 1769 on Page 440 of the St. Louis County Records; thence eastwardly along the north line of said Hardy property to the northeast corner of said Hardy property; thence northwardly along the east line of said Hardy property and said line projected northwardly to its intersection with the south line of Lot 29 of Block 3 of said Nast's Subdivision; thence eastwardly along the south line of Lots 29 and 30 of said subdivision to the southeast corner of said Lot 30; thence northwardly along the east line of said Lot 30 to the northeast corner of said Lot 30; thence northwardly in a straight line across Almentor Avenue to the southeast corner of a lot now or formally owned by Robert and Lena Allen as recorded in Deed Book 1355 on Page 572 of the St. Louis County Records; thence northwardly along the east line of said Allen property to the northeast corner of said Allen property; thence eastwardly along the eastward prolongation of the north line of said Allen property to its intersection with the west line of Lot 16 of said Block 1 of said Nast's Subdivision; thence southwardly along the west line of said Lot 16 to the southwest corner of said Lot 16; thence eastwardly along the south line of Lots 16, 17 and 18 of said Block 1 to the southeast corner of said Lot 18; thence northwardly along the east line of said Lot 18 and said line projected northwardly to the point of beginning. Such sewers to be connected with a certain existing public sewer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that special benefit assessments be levied against all land which shall be found to be benefitted by the said construction in the proportion that the 4 area each such parcel of land bears to the entire benefitted area exclusive of public streets, roads and alleys within the said benefitted area; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that public hearing be held within said Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 58 at such time and place as Executive Director shall determine, for the purpose of determining whether or not it is in the public interest that such improvement, or any part thereof, be made, and that notice of such hearing be given by the posting of notices in not less than three public places within the boundaries of the proposed special benefit subdistrict. 5 The foregoing Resolution was adopted on June 9, 1958.
