WHEREAS, there was filed with the Housing and Home
Finance Agency, in behalf of Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District, (herein called the "District"), an application dated
February 28, 1958, for an advance under the provisions of Public
Law 560, 83rd Congress, as amended, and the UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA, through the Housing and Home Finance Administrator, has
caused to be transmitted to the District for acceptance an
Agreement For Public Works Plan Preparation, dated May 23, 1958,
in connection with the Plan Preparation referred to in said
application and generally described in said Agreement; and
WHEREAS, said Agreement has been duly read in open
meeting, fully considered in accordance with all pertinent rules
of procedure and legal requirements, and made a part of the
District's public records; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St.
Louis Sewer District found it in the public interest that said
Agreement be accepted; and
WHEREAS, as a consequence of developments which have
taken place since the filing of the District's original
application dated February 28, 1958, there has been created a need
for adding to the costs of the preliminary studies; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Director acting for the District
has set out in detail the reason for these additional funds in a
letter dated August 8, 1958, to Mr. W. H. Sindt, Regional
Director, Housing and Home Finance Agency, 300 West Vickery Blvd.,
Fort Worth, Texas, a copy of which is attached hereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT that the Executive
Director be hereby authorized to file in behalf of the District an
application (in the form required by the United States) for an
additional advance of Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) to be
made by the United States to the District to aid in defraying the
cost of Plan Preparation, for public works which shall consist
generally of a comprehensive study to develop preliminary plans
and estimates of cost of interceptors, collecting sewers and
sewage treatment works to abate pollution of the Mississippi
River.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted September 17, 1958.
