HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0211REPEALED BY ORDINANCE NO. 785 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 211 WHEREAS, the Board has received a petition from property owners in St. Louis County for the construction of sanitary sewers to serve such area, and WHEREAS, investigation has shown that such area is not adequately served by such sewers and that the public health is affected, and WHEREAS, it is estimated that the probable cost of installation of such sewers will be approximately One Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars ($110,000.00) and that the most practicable method of payment therefor is by special tax bills, or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon the land benefited by such installation, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the construction of adequate lateral sanitary sewers in the area described below is necessary in the interest of the public health; that such sewers shall consist of approximately 8,600 lineal feet of vitrified clay pipe, which shall be capable of efficiently serving or draining the entire local drainage area; that the estimated probable cost of such improvement is One Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars ($110,000.00); that the entire cost of such improvement shall be paid for by special tax bills or other evidence of special benefit assessments upon the land benefited by such improvement; and that such improvement be constructed in St. Louis County in the area described as follows: 2 CARROLLTON AVENUE SUBDISTRICT Beginning at a point, said point being the southernmost corner of Lot 1 of Walnut Grove Hills subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 81 on Pages 4 and 5 of the St. Louis County Records; thence northeastwardly along the southeast line of Lots 1, 15 and 16 of said subdivision to the southwest line of Lot 30 of said subdivision; thence southwardly along the southwest line of Lot 30 through 37 of said subdivision to the southernmost corner of said Lot 37; thence northeastwardly along the northwest line of Calverton Park Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 18 on Page 34 of the St. Louis County Records and said line projected across Florissant Road (40 feet wide) to its intersection with the northeast line of said Florissant Road; thence southeastwardly along said northeast line to its intersection with the southernmost right-of-way line of Calverton Road extended northeastwardly across said Old Florissant Road; thence southwestwardly along said extension and along said southernmost right-of-way line of Calverton Road, 50 feet wide, to the northeast line of New Florissant Road; thence northwestwardly along said line to the southernmost corner of Lot 1 of Walnut Grove Hills, the point of beginning. 3 such facilities to flow into or be connected with existing public lateral sanitary sewers located at five points, each situated within approximately 200 feet of the aforementioned area, which area shall be the area benefited by such improvement and which is hereby designated as Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 64 (Carrollton) of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that special benefit assessments for the entire cost of such improvement be levied against all land in the above described Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 64, whether public or private, in the proportion that each such lot or parcel of land bears to the entire benefited area of such Special Benefit Subdistrict No. 64, exclusive of public streets, roads and alleys. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing be held within said Special Benefit Subdistrict to afford all persons interested in said improvement an opportunity to be heard; that such hearing shall be held at such time and place as the Executive Director shall determine, but not less than ten nor more than thirty days after the adoption of this resolution; and that notice of such hearing shall be given by the posting of notices in not less than three public places within the boundaries of said Special Benefit Subdistrict. The foregoing Resolution was adopted October 22, 1958.
