HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0317 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 317 WHEREAS, the District has heretofore adopted Ordinance No. 425 establishing the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, and delineating the boundaries thereof; and WHEREAS, it is the sense of the Board of Trustees of the District that it is necessary, in the interest of the public health of the District, that improvements be made in the subdistrict established by Ordinance No. 425; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT that an improvement in the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District is necessary in the interest of the public health, and that the improvement shall consist of a sanitary trunk sewer system extending from the eastern terminus of an existing trunk sewer of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District near the intersection of Leffingwell Street and the St. Louis San Francisco Railroad right-of-way, then extending eastwardly therefrom down the Gravois Creek valley and the River des Peres valley to a point near the intersection of the River des Peres and the Mississippi River. Such sanitary trunk sewer system to be of sufficient size and capacity to provide adequate sanitary sewer service for the estimated ultimate population of the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that based upon the preliminary plans prepared for that purpose available to this Board, and upon the advice of its Executive Director, it is estimated the probable cost of such sanitary trunk sewer system will be Four Million Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand ($4,750,000.00) Dollars, and that funds to pay for such improvement shall be derived from the sale of general obligation bonds, payable both principal and interest, by and from an annual tax on all taxable tangible property within such subdistrict, provided such bonds are authorized by a vote of the registered voters in the Gravois Creek Trunk Subdistrict at an election to be hereafter held for that purpose in accordance with the Plan of the District. The foregoing Resolution was passed on July 14, 1960.
