WHEREAS, the Honorable J. Edward Gragg, a Trustee of
The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, died on August 1, 1961
in his fifty-eighth year, and
WHEREAS, said J. Edward Gragg has served his community
with honor and distinction, having been appointed a member of the
Board of Trustees on August 1, 1956, and was reappointed for a
full four year term, effective March 15, 1957, and
WHEREAS, he was elected and served as Chairman of the
Board of Trustees for the fiscal year 1958-59, and
WHEREAS, during his trusteeship he gave unstintingly of
his time and by his unfailing cheerfulness, energy and judgment
afforded an example to the Board and to the employees of the
District, and
WHEREAS, these qualities were manifestations of his
long and consistent interest in public affairs and of his
generosity in serving civic and fraternal interests.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the sympathies of
each member of this Board of Trustees be extended to the
deceased's widow, Mildred Metting Gragg, and to his son, John E.
Gragg, Jr. and family; that this Resolution be spread upon the
minutes of this Board and copies hereof be forwarded to his widow,
Mildred Metting Gragg and to his son John E. Gragg, Jr.; and that
the Board members stand in one minute of silence in honor and
respect to the memory of J. Edward Gragg.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted August 31, 1961.
