HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0571 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 571 WHEREAS, the Honorable William W. Martin, formerly a Trustee of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, died on August 21, 1962 in his eighty-fourth year, and WHEREAS, Mr. Martin gave a lifetime of honored and distinguished service to his community, and WHEREAS, a generous measure of his exemplary devotion to civic responsibilities was given to The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, Mr. Martin having served as a member of the Board of Trustees from the District's origin in 1954 until his resignation in July, 1962, for reasons of health, and WHEREAS, he was elected and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the fiscal year 1956-1957, and several terms as Vice-Chairman, WHEREAS, during his trusteeship he gave unstintingly of his time, energy, judgment, good will, leadership and the many other outstanding qualities of his character and personality, and WHEREAS, his giving of these qualities and of himself constituted the finest of examples to the Board and to the employees of the District, and was of immeasurable importance in the successful development and operation of the District, and was in the truest tradition of selfless service to his fellow man, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the sympathies of each member of this Board of Trustees be extended to Mr Martin's family; that this Resolution be entered upon the minutes of this Board and copies hereof be forwarded to Mrs. William W. Martin; and that the Board members stand in one minute of silence in honor and respect to the memory of William W. Martin. The foregoing Resolution was adopted August 24, 1962.
