WHEREAS, the $95,000,000 bond issue proposal to build
critically needed sewage treatment facilities to serve the
Mississippi River Watershed of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District was overwhelmingly approved by the voters on November 6,
1962, and
WHEREAS, this approval, which assures the future
health, economy, and general well-being of the entire Metropolitan
St. Louis area, could only have been obtained through an
understanding, well-informed electorate and through the spirited
support of a host of civic-minded individuals and organizations,
and
WHEREAS, this function of bringing the full and proper
information to the voters and the lending of whole-hearted support
was so outstandingly provided by all media in the St. Louis area,
by all political organizations, by civic groups, civic leaders and
organizations of virtually every type and description,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT that the Board of
Trustees gratefully thanks these media, individuals and
organizations on behalf of all citizens of our area who will
benefit from the efforts of these media, individuals and
organizations.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted November 8, 1962.
