WHEREAS, the former Ferguson Sewer District constructed
a public sanitary trunk sewer system North of Maline Creek between
Paul and Blackburn Avenues which was designed and used to serve
only that part of its tributary drainage area in the City of
Ferguson which lay within the former Ferguson Sewer District, and
WHEREAS, sewage from the entire tributary area now
flows into such sewer system, with a resulting overload which
causes basement flooding and impedes further land development,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That it is necessary in the interest of the public
health to construct a relief sanitary sewer which will be entirely
within the boundaries of the former Ferguson Sewer District to
serve the drainage area North of Maline Creek between Paul and
Blackburn Avenues in the City of Ferguson.
2. That such sewer shall consist of approximately
4,931 lineal feet of vitrified clay pipe, varying in diameter from
eight to twenty-four inches and appurtenances.
3. That the estimated probable cost of such
improvement is Ninety-seven Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars
($97,800.00).
4. That such improvement shall be paid for from funds
of the District, as follows: $45,832.00from moneys formerly of the Ferguson Sewer District 35,000.00from the proceeds of charges against Subdistrict No. 155 (Cady and Reasor) as its pro-rata share of the cost
16,968.00from the General Fund $97,800.00
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing be held
within said improvement area to afford all persons interested in
said improvement an opportunity to be heard; that such hearing
shall be held at such time and place as the Executive Director
shall determine, but not less than ten nor more than thirty days
after the adoption of this Resolution; and that notice of such
hearing shall be given by the publication of notice in at least
one issue of a newspaper of general circulation within The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District not less than ten days in
advance of the date of such hearing. The foregoing Resolution was adopted March 24, 1965.
