August 12, 2013 in Downtown Leesburg
Leesburg, VA (August 9, 2013 ) – The Town of Leesburg will continue its work on Phase II of the
Downtown Improvements Project, beginning the week of August 12, 2013, with water line
replacement work on Loudoun Street between Church Street and King Street. All construction
work will be done at night, between the hours of 7pm and 5am. During the first week of
construction, traffic will be reduced to a single lane on Loudoun Street between King Street and
Church Street during work hours. Flag crews will control and direct traffic.
Beginning on August 19, the construction will require full closure of Loudoun Street at night
between King Street and Church Street, between the hours of 7:00pm and 6:00 am. Normal
traffic patterns will resume each morning. Please see the attached detour map.
Upon completion of the water line replacement, which is anticipated to take three weeks, new
curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and landscaping will be installed on Loudoun Street between Church
Street and King Street. This work will also take place at night. All work on this portion of
Loudoun Street is anticipated to be complete by the end of October.
