WHEREAS, Lloyd M. Johnson, an original member of the
Civil Service Commission of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District and presently its Chairman, finds himself unable to
accept appointment to another term, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson's service as a member of the
Commission comprehends thirteen consecutive years, from July 22,
1954 through July 21, 1967, during which he was Chairman for some
six and one-half years and Vice Chairman for five years,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
That the Board deeply regrets the loss of Mr. Johnson's
further contributions to personnel administration. He joined in
the preparation of the District's original civil service rules and
compensation plan and he has been a major force in their
administration and revision from time to time. His public spirit
and his sympathy with the application of merit principles to
public employment caused him to give his time to the District
without stint. He was always available and his skill and interest
have been of inestimable benefit. The Board's appreciation goes
to Mr. Johnson along with its good wishes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this expression
of regret and appreciation be given to Mr. Johnson.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted July 26, 1967.
