HomeMy Public PortalAboutR0956 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 956 WHEREAS, the District has heretofore adopted Ordinance No. 1316 establishing Subdistrict No. 257 (Rayburn Avenue Subtrunk) of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, and delineating the boundaries thereof; and WHEREAS, it is the sense of the Board of Trustees of the District that it is necessary, in the interest of the public health of the District, that improvements be made in the Subdistrict established by Ordinance No. 1316, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT that an improvement in Subdistrict No. 257 (Rayburn Avenue Subtrunk) of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District is necessary in the interest of the public health, and that the improvement shall consist of a sanitary trunk sewer system extending from the intersection of Newland Avenue with Spellman Avenue, then extending westwardly and southwestwardly there from up a branch of the Gravois Creek valley to a point near Lindbergh Boulevard. Such sanitary trunk sewer system to be of sufficient size and capacity to provide adequate sanitary sewer service for the estimated ultimate population of Subdistrict No. 257 (Rayburn Avenue Subtrunk). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the probable cost of such improvement is estimated to be One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($115,000), based upon preliminary plans prepared for that purpose available to this Board, and upon the advice of the Executive Director. 2 That the payment of the entire cost shall conform with the requirements of the Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 466 et seq.), under which the United States is authorized to make a grant in aid not exceeding 30% of the construction and engineering cost and the remainder must be paid by such subdistrict. That the part of the cost to be paid by such subdistrict, which is Eighty-Two Thousand Dollars ($82,000.00), shall be derived from the sale of general obligation bonds, payable both principal and interest by and from an annual tax on all taxable tangible property within such subdistrict, provided such bonds are authorized by a vote of the registered voters in Subdistrict No. 257 (Rayburn Avenue Subtrunk) at an election to be hereafter held for that purpose in accordance with the Plan of the District. The foregoing Resolution was adopted September 7, 1967.
