WHEREAS, the former Affton Sewer District constructed a
public sanitary trunk and outfall sewer system which was designed
and used to serve only that part of its tributary drainage area
which lay within the former Affton Sewer District, and
WHEREAS, the bypassing of the Affton Treatment Plant
caused an overload of the outfall sewer,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That it is necessary in the interest of the public
health to construct a relief sanitary sewer which will be entirely
within the boundaries of the former Affton Sewer District to
properly serve the drainage area tributary to the former Affton
Treatment Plant at Tiber and Anchor Drives in St. Louis County,
Missouri.
2. That such sewer shall consist of approximately 776
lineal feet of twenty-four inch vitrified clay pipe and
appurtenances.
3. That the estimated probable cost of such
improvement is Nineteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($19,500.00).
4. That such improvement shall be paid for from moneys
formerly of the Affton Sewer District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing be held
within said improvement area to afford all persons interested in
said improvement an opportunity to be heard; that such hearing
shall be held at such time and place as the Executive Director
shall determine, but not less than ten nor more than thirty days
after the adoption of this resolution; and that notice of such
hearing shall be given by the publication of notice in at least
one issue of a newspaper of general circulation within The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District not less than ten days in
advance of the date of such hearing.
