HomeMy Public PortalAboutR1117 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 1117 WHEREAS, the large metropolitan areas of the United States have a common interest in the elimination of water pollution and in seeking administrative and legislative reforms for the determination and disbursement of water pollution control grants, the advancement of knowledge in the management of metropolitan sewerage agencies by the collection and exchange of scientific and technical information and the establishment of sound policies at all levels of government relating to sewage collection, treatment and disposal; and WHEREAS, an Association of Metropolitan Sewerage Agencies has been proposed as a means of accomplishing these purposes, and WHEREAS, a coordinated effort by these large metropolitan areas through an association will encourage maximum effectiveness, at the same time allowing significant economies; and WHEREAS, the staff recommends that The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District join the Association of Metropolitan Sewerage Agencies and participate fully therein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT, as follows: Section One. The Board of Trustees hereby approves and authorizes that The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District join the Association of Metropolitan Sewerage Agencies, an organization of sewerage agencies serving a population of 250,000 or more people. 2 Section Two. The Executive Director and The General Counsel are hereby authorized to act as the representatives of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District in all matters relating to the Association of Metropolitan Sewerage Agencies. The foregoing Resolution was adopted March 19, 1970.
