HomeMy Public PortalAboutR1494 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 1494 WHEREAS, the Plan of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer. District authorizes the District to take title to and operate and maintain all public sewers within its boundaries, and WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 3205, adopted March 23, 1977, the District has called for an election to determine if the voters of most of the remainder of St. Louis County wish to be annexed to it, and the Board of Trustees wishes to express its policies in regard to dedication and acceptance of public sewers now belonging to other public bodies, as well as privately owned sewers; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT that the following policy is hereby adopted: 1. The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District would assume responsibility for operation and maintenance only if local elected officials dedicated the public sewers to the District and The Metropolitan St. Louis District's Board of Trustees voted to accept them. 2. That any and all private sewers may be dedicated to and accepted by the District in the manner currently in effect, which is that such sewers will be inspected by the District, and if in reasonably satisfactory condition, dedicated to the District by deed and accepted therefor by the Executive Director. 3. It is not anticipated that The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District will assume immediate control over stormwater in the area to be annexed. However, The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District will provide planning services and will work with local municipal authorities and other organizations and groups to coordinate stormwater drainage programs where these services are requested. The foregoing Resolution was adopted April 27, 1977.
